One tip from the "Boy Scout" in the group...
Set up your tent at home for the first time as a practice run.
It helps if you have to set up in the dark!

It also verifies you have all the pegs and poles!

I go a step farther and set up everything I'm going to bring. Even though I've done it a thousand times, I still want to make sure it's all there. You never know what the ninja squirrels might take from you!

We now have two more joiners. They said no a few months ago, the drive too long, money too tight etc. Today they said, screw it, life is too short.....and bought their tickets!

1 tip I haven't seen mentioned but I learned last year at Magfest big storm came through late night. Check out the lay of the land, water run off came through our camp, if possible find some high ground just in case.

Had a Monsoon (2007) after DTB played late night Sat. river road was literaly a river, 4"of water in my campsitethat morning. Learned my lesson seek high ground :!:

The amount of equipment destroyed by the winds and water was phenomenal. Tents at the tops of trees, kegs in a lake in front of the Peach stage - wow. Yes - always try and prepare for water obstacles.

.....and keep some dry clothes/shoes/blankets in your car. If you end up needing them, you'll be SO GLAD that they're there.
