When it comes to a campfire, one should never be left unattended. Especially when conditions are "red flag", but really - never. As in: NEVER leave a campfire unattended.

We often put tea lights out at night. Used to set them up 'as-is', meaning with NO tea light holders. Then, one little candle set fire to the underbrush, which spread to about a six foot circle of flame. That reached to a corner of someone's tent. (Sorry, no pics of all that), but I'll tell yall: Them modern nylon tents melt real easy. Too easy. :?

We got lucky. Sounds like that car owner wasn't... Sigh.

Lesson learned: Safety First! (No, really. We mean it this time!) :mrgreen:
