MagFest last year was great, it looks like we might have to miss it this year due to a family obligation, which really bums me out. We enjoyed the whole vibe and smaller crowds.
I like Funk and some Electronica as long as it isn't the Euro Trash variety.

Yes....

Actually I have found both of these to be family friendly. I wouldn't carry a young kid to Wanee...but would not hesitate to take a middle aged to either Mag or Bear. Both are more relaxed and not the wookie factor at either that I have seen.

Bear Creek! And this line has my head spinning!
Nice work Paul and gang.
I am not the biggest fan of electronic music and Bear Creek is just right for me in that area. I love the Funk and BC brings it!
I consider SOSMP home and enjoy any fest there, but one thing I love about BC over Wanee, (scrog ducks), is the people. Wanee is almost too big for SOSMP, at least last year felt that way.

Karl Dempson X2, FUNK Yeah!
My only request is for March Fourth Marching Band to be back on the line up. :P

Always wanted to see Bootsy Collins and his stylish, glittered sunglasses and top hat. If the Rombello Cruise does not happen, might have to keep this as a backup plan!

Brrrrr Creek was just not for me....and I'm not hating...

It got down to 28 degrees at night...
and I am just not into "electronica"....synthesized music.
Did see some awesome acts tho...just not much for the Headliners music.
And I know there are many that like it...I did have a great time though.....we had a stage set up within 50 yards of our camp out by the lake. In some ways...it is more enjoyable than Wanee...They had food areas out by the Lake...music out there (Cope with George Porter and others sitting in), more porta potties ....and a smaller crowd...I imagine around 4500-5000. They would have 4-5 stages going at once...
And a DJ night in an enclosed area.
I preferred Mag fest...more my musical taste....
but hey...that was just me.
If you go...you will love it.

Different strokes...

Mag Fest isn't my thing, so much, although there would certainly be a number of acts I'd love to see. I am a total sucker for that electronica stuff.

As my late mother-in-law taught me to say:
THAT'S WHAT MAKES A HORSE RACE.

Great to know that. They're not really on my radar. I know they should be, but this stuff gets overwhelming at times!

Hmm...the artists-at-large makes this a definite maybe for me. I love wanee but a less-crowded SOSMP could be a winner. We camp there four or five times a year anyways, maybe just swap to a festival weeekend.

Fest goers of both are good people!
Magfest=Rock,Americana, Bluegrass, etc.
Bear Creek=Funk, blues, jazz, HORNS, slightly younger crowd 8-) (chronologically anyway), I'm just 17! 8-)
You'll enjoy both, because they're located at our home in our living room/yard/stumblin' ground!

Late night with Jimmy Fallon

They're Great. Bear Creek is great! Paul knows how to throw a party! Nawlin's style! Did I say HORNS?
