Do not park in numbered sites, unless you have paid for that particular site. I watched someones car get towed in 2011.

Don't think you will get away with it either.

The general store is perfect for things forgotten.

Good advice. If camping primitive and you see numbers in the area you are in or have any doubt whatsoever, ask one of the awesome park employees that ride around in the golf carts or a neighbor if the spot is or appears to be in a reserved area. A reserved spot takes effect this weekend and you'll be wasting your time setting everything up and the owner shows up to claim it.

when colors are hard to see just highlight it with your mouse :)

You broke the code. Nothing more amusing than a secret message on a public forum.

Just so my friends can find me, I'll be the only one not wearing tie-dye. :D

If you are coming from the north, Valdosta is the last town of any size. From the south, it would be Lake City.

As for places close to the park, there is a Walmart supercenter just south of I-10 on 129 (the main road adjacent to SOSMP). There is also a Publix a few miles farther south.

There is a liquor store north of the park on 129, but no guarantees it will be open.

There's not a whole heck of a lot on site save for a general store.

The river can be dangerous at high water. Two people were just killed on the lower Suwannee when they tried to save somebody else. It may not be whitewater, but drunk concert-goers and high water don't mix.

Even if it isn't super hot, the Florida sun has a habit of burning tourists, especially if the hair has been thinning. Hats are a great invention. This might be the one time your plastic helmet that holds two beer cans and has latex tubing would be appropriate apparel.

If anybody wants to say hello, I'll be the one in the tie-dye.

Peace.

Blooby

You should be easy to find since I'm sure you'll be the only one in tie-dye ;)
Can't wait to meet you!!!
