Get after show tickets, looks to be awesome:
Warren Haynes confirmed as a guest in Grand Point Dead!
Warren Haynes, the guitarist and vocalist of Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers Band, has confirmed plans to join in as one of the special guests for Grand Point Dead, the official Grand Point North Festival after party at Higher Ground. The house band will be led by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals’ guitarist Benny Yurco, and will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead. Warren Haynes is no stranger to the Grateful Dead’s music, collaborating with several members of the band over the years, including the venerable Phil Lesh & Friends ensembles and The Dead’s 2004 and 2009 tours. Warren will be playing with Gov’t Mule at Grand Point North on Sunday, September 15th at Burlington’s Waterfront Park. Other confirmed guests for Grand Point Dead include Grace Potter, Matt Burr and Scott Tournet from the Nocturnals. The after party will begin at 10:30 at Higher Ground.

Grand Point Dead was F'ing AWESOME. Warren & Grace showed up!

Headed to Nashville tomorrow for the Americana Music Fest... one of my very favorites. A half dozen clubs, four nights of hour long showcases, connected by a free shuttle service, all for fiddy bux. FIDDY! 8-)

*AND* tomorrow night they do the big 'awards show' at the Ryman. A three hour show, with six awards given, otherwise it's all great musical performances. Hollywood might could take a hint on how to do an awards show from these guys...

The Americana Honors and Awards show is the soul of the Americana conference. At this always unforgettable annual event, we gather to celebrate the very best of music with remarkable performances, tributes and stories. Jim Lauderdale will again serve as master of ceremonies, while Buddy Miller will lead an all-star house band. Appearances are scheduled by: Stephen Stills, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Shovels & Rope, Jerry Douglas, JD McPherson, Richard Thompson, John Fullbright, Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison, Billy Bragg and more.

Check it out~
