can you tell us a story about the olden days??
I always tell my students we used our slide rules to keep the pterydactyls away.
They have no idea what a slide rule is. Naturally, I have four in my desk drawer for just such emergencies!
And I guess they don't call them "pterydactyls" any more.
Great moment from PeeWee's Playhouse (that show was awesome -- more notes at the bottom):
Randy, the bratty puppet, kept call Terry, the pterydactyl puppet, "Pa-Terry." PeeWee explained to him that the P was silent.
Randy's answer? "OK, EeWee!" [You had to be there.]
My friend's sister used to babysit PeeWee WAAAAY back in the day in Sarasota. There were many Jewish neighbors, and the character Mrs. Renay from the first season is styled after many of the women. Reba the mail lady was S. Epatha Merkeson from Law and Order. Phil Hartman was the original Captain Karl before it went to Saturday mornings. Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo did a lot of the music, and other musicians who contributed included:
The Residents, Danny Elfman, Todd Rundgren, George S. Clinton, Dweezil Zappa, Scott Thunes, Jeff Baxter, Stanley Clarke and
Van Dyke Parks
