His shows are all the same anymore. It was his usual.

Now the changes Northerly Island have made....that's a review.

Phish goes there for three shows next weekend.

Northerly has totally changed the place to hold from what was 7,000 to now 30,000. They put a huge restricted view lawn area in on a hill. The hill had new sod on it for Buffett. It was a mud/sod slide. I dont know how they'll make the improvements in time for Phish. Video screens on the lawn area, but sound is horrible.

They've screwed up a nice venue right on the beach of Lake Michigan. It's right across from Soldiers Field, and has an awesome view of the Chicago skyline.

They have added more sound towers so hopefully the sound situation is improved. And the cityscape should still be good. We will have a balling time no matter what.

Hello Phish Fans,
Here at the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion in Chicago, we are aware of Phish fan concerns that have come from feedback from our first concert of the season at the end of June. We know you are as excited as we are about the band's return to the Chicagoland area and, in advance of the shows, we wanted to share with you some of our extensive preparations. We are working closely with the Phish organization to ensure that every aspect of FirstMerit Bank Pavilion will make for a great concert experience.
Here's an overview of some of the relevant areas:
Sound: While other artists have opted to use a single delay system, Phish is bringing in multiple delay towers to ensure optimal sound coverage across the entire lawn.
Lawn: Our landscaping team has done extensive work over the past couple of weeks, and we are pleased to report that the lawn has completely dried out. There will be sanded areas in some portions of the lawn and it will be a great place to view the show, along with the magnificent vistas of the Chicago skyline.
Concessions & Facilities: We've added several areas to buy concessions -- the beverages will be ice cold and we will have plenty of them.In addition, we've expanded the variety of menu items. There will be select $4 12 oz. beers for sale throughout the venue and, in addition to our typical selection, there will be a microbrew tent on the lawn. We have also increased the number of restrooms throughout the site.
We look forward to welcoming you to our spectacular new venue!
Your friends at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion and Live Nation

Saratoga Springs

One concert-goer died and more than 80 people were arrested during three days of concerts by the rock band Phish at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

State Park Police identified a man who they say suffered an "unknown medical condition" at the Friday night show at SPAC and later died. Brent Wallace, 40, of Randolph, Vt., was taken to Saratoga Hospital, where he became unresponsive, state officials said. Wallace was airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was placed on life support and later died.

Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy said the death was due to a drug overdose.

City Court judges conducted arraignments at the Lincoln Baths. Shuttles ran between the makeshift courthouse and the jail all night. Four assistant district attorneys were assigned to handle the extra volume.

State Park Police arrested 55 people outside the shows, which took place Friday to Sunday nights in Saratoga Spa State Park, and lodged 32 felony charges. All were for drugs, according to the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Thirty people were arraigned and sent to jail, and another 25 posted bail at the station, according to the state. Park Police also responded to 41 drug or alcohol complaints; 14 ambulance calls; 17 calls for assistance; 15 vehicle and traffic complaints; five motor vehicle accidents; and 53 other calls.

Another 26 were arrested by Saratoga Springs and State Police. The concerts drew some 25,000 people each night.

Among the drugs found were LSD, MDMA (Ecstasy), mushrooms, hashish, ketamine, bath salts, cocaine, heroin, and nitrous oxide. In one case, law enforcement found gummy bears which contained what field-tested to be LSD.

Park Police did not list the names of those arrested. The Saratoga Springs police did make public the names of those charged.

Those arrested on felonies and the charges against them are:

Warren J. Carlson, 34, of Binghamton, felony drug possession; unlawful possessing noxious material, a misdemeanor, and operation of a vehicle without a seat belt.

Tammy M. Carlson, 38, of Endicott, felony drug possession; unlawfully possessing noxious material, and operation of a vehicle without a seat belt.

The Carlsons and two others were stopped at 3:05 p.m. Sunday on Union Avenue, police said, and found to have illegal narcotics and a nitrous oxide tank. The other two were charged with misdemeanors.

Kyle A. McMurry, 19, of Madison, Ala., is charged with two felony possession counts.

Christian A. Pollock, 18, of Rockwell, Texas, was charged with two felony charges of possessing illegal drugs.

Daniel Cucinotta, 35, of Ocala, Fla., was charged with two counts of felony narcotics possession.

McMurry, Pollock and Cucinotta were stopped on South Broadway at 4:37 p.m. Saturday and found to have various drugs, police said. Based on information obtained at the scene, police said, a search warrant was secured for a Colonie hotel room where more drugs were found.

Clayton J. Pizzollo, 35, of Grey, Maine, is charged with four felony drug possession charges. He was arrested at 4:18 p.m. Saturday, charged with having and selling narcotics.

James W. Hicks, 46, of Albany was charged with a felony count of selling drugs and three misdemeanors. He was arrested on South Broadway at 2:25 p.m. Saturday after police said he sold illegal narcotics.

Benjamin James Jensen of Denverwas charged with being a fugitive from justice, a felony, and misdemeanor possession and resisting arrest. Police said he was stopped on South Broadway at 1:52 p.m. Saturday and found to have illegal narcotics. A warrant check on Jensen found he was a wanted fugitive from Arkansas, police said, and he refused to cooperate when officers were trying to arrest him.

Michael J. Desbiens, 37, of New Haven, Conn., was charged with a felony drug sale charge and two misdemeanor possession counts and resisting arrest. Desbiens was stopped at 12:24 p.m. Friday on South Broadway.
