I resent this quote

I'm pretty sure Jason does too.....

In an answer to the original question...if you like civil war stuff...the Olstee Battlefield is about 30 minutes east of Lake City on I 10. Its pretty cool. They have a little museum with some relics and description of the battle. Then you can walk on the trails where the battle took place.

First off, I did not bring the volcanic, voodoo, vodka.

But... in full disclosure, and this has been bothering me since the M&G, I did bring it to Sue's attention. :o

But, unlike Sue, I amply WARNED her.
So I am truly sorry for this, and every time I think about it, I loose my breath and get the hiccups.
That was some serious Sh!!!t.

Hey, you can always do a canoe paddle down the river, they rent canoes at the park and will shuttle... Not sure of fees though...

The hardest thing about that was she had that cute, sweet, innocent look on her face and pawned that off to the poor unsuspecting victim! I feel for it!

A trip down the river is really nice. Old ruins of the Suwannee Springs (http://www.suwanneevalleytimes.com/archives/209-suwannee-sprVer). Relaxing and breath taking!

My 9th year going! Got our tix, our site, and our rv. :D

There really is no need to leave the park or go anywhere. But, there is a golf course up the road. 1 year we did rent the kayaks and took them down the river (need to reserve in advance). They also offer horseback riding.

We bring the bacci balls and our guitars. We can do those things without spilling our drinks!!
:D

I think the guy who started this thread wanted something to do before or after the festival.

It's for sure....there is no need to leave the grounds during the few days the festival is happening. Too many cops on the raod....too much good music.

I will say visiting the Oulstee battlefield after wanee on my way to jax airport was a great way to decompress after a long, party filled, exciting, musical week.

I think if you go south on 75 into ocala area, there are some cool places to watch manatees. I'll look into that.
