Assume you're rustic camping?

Along with the above, a rake to clear out leaves & such so you have a safe spot for a campfire.
A hammock.
Beer & a cooler.

A lot depends on your vehicle... I bring my old VW Bus and a trailer... I bring everything and the kitchen sink. Really. Camp near someone that has a heaping trailer load of stuff. The Wanee spirit is such that you can borrow most anything. :D

For me, a bike is a critical piece. WalMart is only 6 miles away, and an easy ride. They have everything you forget. Bring an easy to work bike lock also, one that uses a combination not a key to lose....

BEFORE you go, make a spare car key and keep it somewhere on the car. Zip ties work well for that. At Wanee, even at Bear Creek, I was amazed at how many times I saw the 'pop-a-lock' people` out there.

The general store is very reasonable on their prices, and carry beer I like so I dont bring it with. Booze? OH Yes.

Depending on your attention to hygiene, monkey butt powder may be in order. Seems to be a staple in some packing lists, I have yet to need it. (It seems that there is an group that celebrates NOT having to bathe for a few days, and they always seem to stand next to me in the crowd...)

Oh Yeah - SHOWER SHOES.

Search the forum also. This subject gets covered EVERY year.

There is a start..

Essential Camping Checklist

Alcohol

Alcohol is the lifeblood of humanity. It’s almost impossible to be bored when you’re drunk, so take enough booze to last your entire expedition. A mix of drinks is good. Take at least a gallon of rum, whisky or vodka and a large keg of beer. Take a crate of wine for the early evenings and a couple of bottles of absinth.

Medical Kit

Pack your medical kit with care — your life may depend on it. Here are the most essential medical items for happy campers:

Nicotine patches or gum (in case you run out of cigarettes)
Rubbing alcohol (just in case)
A massive bag of weed (for medicinal use only)
Rolling papers
Spare cigarette lighter
Novelty adhesive bandages
Condoms (you can also fill 5 or 6 with moonshine and tie them off on your belt to get past security. They will just think it's part of your attire)
Lube

Barbeque

Barbequing is one of the few good things about camping. Take a fat-ass barbeque and loads of fire-starting tools (and fuel). Rubbing sticks together to make heat is totally pointless when you can buy a disposable lighter for $0.50. Lint from your navel makes a handy fire starter. Warning: Remove lint from navel before applying the match.

Adult Entertainment

Unless you’re going camping with a whole load of hot and horny men/women/hippies/whatever, you’re going to need some porn. Due to the lack of internet, you’ll have to resort to old-school magazines. Take at least one for each day (if you also enjoy reading, buy Playboy). Women should take a heavy-duty dildo (for pleasure and for clubbing fish and small animals). Men should take a robust sex doll (for pleasure and for crossing lakes and rivers).
