Not much to choose from there. Get a tent, it will be more fun.
Two years ago I got a room and it was the nastiest, filthy dirty place I have ever seen in my life. Will look back to get the name to advise where not to stay.

Welcome dcaragher!

Here's the deal: there's three or four motels at the I-75 Live Oak exit... that's about five miles from the park. My experience is that the rates during Wanee are pretty stupid high, like $180/nt for the Holiday Express.

Next closest places to stay are in the town of Lake City, an easy half hour drive away. Lots of options there, and the prices are reasonable. Lots more dining choices too, compared to Live Oak. Of course you will need someone to be sober for the drive at the end of the day...

You don't say if you are flying or driving; if flying, and you want to camp, you can stuff a sleeping bag in a cooler, duct tape it closed, and check it. You'll need to rely on friends to set you up ahead of time with a tent and mattress pad.

If you're driving, your options increase considerably, and makes camping much easier. If you're hoteling it, you will miss out on late night campfire shenanigans... my lawyer has advised me to say no more about that ... :D

Do some Googling. There are a few hotels at the I-75 exit as well as a couple in beautiful Live Oak, FL (closer to the I-10 exit). Rates may be high for room due to the special event. As previously noted Lake City is a reasonably close alternative to Live Oak.

The SOSMP web site (musicliveshere.com) has information about specific hotels as well.

FOUND THAT INFO!
Stay away from Seven Oaks Inn Jasper. Nasty is too kind an expletive for this place. I stayed there in 2012 and maybe they have cleaned up since then or maybe not!
