If you are going the hotel route, it may be too late already for the Live oak places. Lake City is farther, as somebody mentioned, but it is a less expensive alternative.

But have a designated driver!

^^^^^A Must!

Watch out for check points leaving the park. That was my experience in 2012.

Yes Yes Yes!! Cops are Bad there. There is a really cool old spa across from the park. We ran into some trouble a few years back. Mid Day taking a tour of the area. Got harassed by police. I would reccomend NEVER leaving the Park once you get in there. General store has whatever you forgot.

If they don't have it, you don't need it.

If you REALLY have to have it, somebody else has got it.

True. Good Karma story. Wanee 2012 a woman came up and asked if we knew a local place that sold golf cart parts cuz they needed a battery cable. I said "You mean one of these" I handed her an extra we had. She said we saved their weekend. Magfest 2012 I was driving my cart by the Renni Fair and the wheel fell off. It fell OFF. It Fell the F*&K OFF. A nice person from the park told me to go see a man named Red. He had all the parts and tools to fix it and we never had to leave the park. Bad part is it was my Mothers Cart actually and when I found out what she gave him for his work I felt embarrassed. It wasnt enough. If I ever see him again I will make it right.

And that sums up what we as people and Brothers and the Sisters of the Suwannee are all about... Helping others in need no matter how big or small.. Karma is real, so always treat others like you wanna be treated. A smile is all the reward we need... Positivity starts with just 1 kind act and snow ballls from there! :) :)

True, Keeb, but I REALLY wish you hadn't said "snowballs" right before the AURA festival!

I camped out my first Wanee in 2011 but didn't really make connections. I would really like some suggestions for ideas about enjoying the evening around a fire with new friends. I only need space for my vehicle and my little gnome-home tent. Would love to play a little harp with some music makers. Thanks!

A little friendliness goes a long ways.....

(that and alcohol)

Really....just going out of your way to talk and invite neighbors over helps. We have grilled steaks the first night there and invite close neighbors over. That and a beer and some friendly conversation is all you need. ' Course, it helps to camp by nice peeps. Attend one of the Meet & Greets at Waneetopia....and you can develop dozens of friends in a short time. We were all Wanee virgins at one time.

Has anyone heard from WaneeVirgin lately? She hasn't been on the forum in a while. And Wanee is during the rush of tax season this year so she might not be there?????
