I'm gonna do some site seeing in Macon on Sunday, and check out the Allman Bro's Big House Museum since it's on the way, and arrive at Waneetopia sometime late Sunday afternoon.
I'll be traveling alone, but a lot of good friends I met from Lockn are gonna be there, and I just know this is going to be a blast! Plus there are a bunch I ain't met yet that I am looking forward to meet.
Man I love camping, and being around a bunch of great people and partying in the woods is my idea of a good time!
The music is going to be fantastic, no doubt! But that's only the half of it.
WANEE!!!........WANEE!!!!!..............WANEEE!!!!!!!!!

DROP is the deferred retirement option plan. I confess to a lot of ignorance about something so mathematical. When you enter DROP (and the program has been scaled way back since I entered three years ago), money is going into my retirement AND I am getting a paycheck. They base it on your previous five years.

It is double-dipping, but I would modestly say teachers and first-responders are entitled.

Yep. I agree.

Our first couple of Wanee's, we arrived on Wednesday/Thursday. Then we came up earlier each year! This year, we are arriving on Friday (yes 1 week before) and leaving on Monday. It is so relaxing and interesting to watch it all "come together"! I like to ride around and talk to ppl. Not to mention, if you are primi camping, you get your choice of sites vs settling for what is available! We are members of the park so we don't have to pay for arriving early! As far as being alone if you come early, swing by River Road (just a little past the Horse Camp road) and look for the lighted palm tree(s) and stop by and say hey!

Capt, would you tell us more about being a "member of the park?" I did not know about that.

Thanks in advance!

I can tell you that from Tuesday on there is no such thing as boredom. I have never shown up that early, but I have gotten there and have been told about all the fun I missed. So if yuo arrive Monday and set up camp on Monday, there is no chance of Boredom.

About $7K down and $400 a year, IIRC. WELL worth it if you go often.
