Post A Brush With Nature
I know this has nothing to do with music but I thought it was cool.My wife and I went to Daytona Beach this past weekend for a little R&R.I was standing on beach talking to my wife when all of a sudden people bolted out of the water and were pointing in the water and Im thinking they saw a dolphin and thought it was a shark.I kept watching and soon I saw what it was.It wasnt a shark or a dolphin it was a MANATEE!! Really it was 5 manatees and I could not belive it.They were in shallow water so I went in with them.I have been a scuba diver for over 30 years and never have I gotten this close to manatees. They swam up to me and I was able to touch them.I was so excited I walked 2 miles down the beach in the water with them.I moved real slow so I didnt spook them.Ive told all my friends about this encounter and thought my new wanee friends would like my story. One of the best experiences Ive ever had!!!!! :D

thats awesome !!

my dad used to have a catamaran and we'd go to Destin(Fla)
and sail with the dolphins right under the boat....
thats always a great experience when you get up close with nature.

i had a similar encounter with manatees! two were swimming in the ocean and they scared the crap outta me. but i got about 10 feet away and could see them very clearly. I walked along side them for a few hundred yards and then they went further out to sea. very cool interaction.

your very blessed love2 panic to get that kind of experience.

I hear you dude!
I live on the Gulf Coast in central Fla and we see them all of the time. I have had times when I was fishing on my kayak and they would just appear out of no where and check me out. I stuck my hand in the water and they would swim over and roll over for me to scratch their bellies. Sometimes I paddle away from them to continue fishing and they follow me. They are truly one of natures most wonderful creatures. There are places here in the winter where they bunch up in springs to stay warm and you can snorkle with them, it's the most amazing thing. I feel so lucky to have experienced these things
