Post Wanee Weather
It looks like we really dodged the weather bullet with the Festival date moved up a week for Easter. Looks like Friday and Saturday wet weather.

We really had fantastic weather at the 2014 Wanee once the rain from Sunday and Monday stopped.

We were there for 9 days, so I was packed and ready for most any weather. Radiant heater for the chilly mornings, and PLENTY of tarps, bungees, poles and straps to make a CAT2 ready shelter. This picture was pre-rain, and we are sealed up.

The Rain had benefits..

My 'big tent' has one drawback - NO spare parts are available. And the plastic joints are known to crack.. rendering the tent useless. Wandering around on the cart 'post-rain' i found a pile of tent pieces by the road...looked familiar...and YES! It was the same as my big tent. Few broken pieces, but MANY good parts and pipes. Collected the bunch, and now have a good spare parts stash. Sorry for the troubles that the collapse caused someone, but one mans trash..

We did dodge a bullet. I had been out there 2 weeks prior for Springfest, and Every Thing Was Covered In Pollen. It even got inside my closed tent. That big rain 2 days before Wanee kept that and any dust in check.

One camping trip tip I'll pass on, told to me by a Civil War reenactor-buddy: bring a bale of hay, and spread it out below where you are going to set up tents. It'll keep your camping area from getting muddy and squishy should it downpour.

Tarps and rope. Tarps and rope. You can do anything if you have enough tarps and rope.
