And if you're talking about 1001, it is the product of three consecutive prime numbers: 7 x 11 x 13

I love you man!

Thanks. it is a disease without a cure. I see numbers and tie events or math ideas to them all the time. I can't help it. I should have known from the days I was a swimmer (age 8 to 18, through freshman year at college). I learned to count strokes, and I could not possibily swim without counting. My brain just does it. Even 20 x 200 (160 laps), I'd still count strokes EVERY lap.

Like I said, it's a disease... with no known cure.

And nobody's looking to FIND one, either!

You would have loved last night's Jeopardy! category: Come up with the name of the person they give the clue about, take the person's initials and combine them to make a Roman numeral, and convert that to a regular (Arabic) number. That's the answer you give in the form of a question.

Ken Jennings, the most winning Jeopardy! contestant ever, smoked that category easily. I'm fairly good at math, but I was the visage of a drowned rat, just a few bubbles floating to the surface, trying to keep up with that stuff

Trebek sez: Good for $800! Go again!

:D

For you geeky types: the $1000 answer was 200, = CC, = Chris Carter of X-Files fame 8-)

Agree Beach Bob. I am fairly proficient at math and Ken had the number out faster that I could process the information into a coherent sentence to then try and decipher. It was pretty startling.

Look, it took a computer to beat him.

He really is on a different astral plane.

Have you ever seen Ken-nections in the Parade magazine?

Very interesting
