 Re: the scene
I can't imagine a better venue for camping and seeing music. Lots of trees, plenty of space (a lot of which people don't even know about), the Suwannee River, trails...beautiful.
The promoters don't cater to the flavor-of-the-day bands, and because the festival isn't as eclectic musically as others (that's not to say there isn't some diversity on the bill), you can count on mostly like-minded folks.
Just go. You won't regret it.

p.s.-Although I've never had a problem, I understand the cops can be overbearing, even in the campgrounds.

 Re: the scene
Just use reasonable discretion.

 Re: the scene
How could cops be overbearing at an ABB show? That is disappointing!

 Re: the scene
It a nice venue that is smack dab in the middle of a very conservative, Bible-thumping area. Plus I bet the local cops see $$$ when every festival comes around. Otherwise they would worry more about keeping the party contained than actually trying to police it.

 Re: the scene
Every other festival i've been to, have had little to no police and we seem to govern ourselves just fine...

 Re: the scene
Its not like they'll frisk you and search your car on the way in. Its not like there are goon squads roaming around clubbing people. Just use discretion, even at your camp site! Don't go walking down the road with big bowl of chronic leaving a smoke trail behind you. Leave the bong at home. Don't leave stuff spread out on the picnic table in plain site. Just assume that not everyone around you is cool. If anyone asks you if you have something, NO YOU DON'T!

 Re: the scene
It's nothing like "The Gathering of the Vibes" where they search every car or truck that goes through the gate. Went to that last year what pain in the arse. It was a good show though!!!!
