 Re: DRIVE BY TRUCKERS
I caught the at the MT> JAM last year, they were great. One song called "Let There Be Rock" (not ac/dc) rocked, it talked about going to concerts and Ronnie Van Zant when they were younger. I loved them!

I haven't seen aschedule. They will be performing at BamaJam on Friday. If you go to individual band's websites, it's easy to see.

 Re: DRIVE BY TRUCKERS
I'm pretty psyched for DBT. When I go cd-shopping (yes, I'm a dinosaur), I often try to buy one from a band I've never heard of before (assuming it catches my eye). I saw "The Dirty South", bought it on a whim, and immediately fell in love with it. Bought just about any other album I could find/sample and they quickly wound up on my favorite bands list. They're a good band with good guitarists, but what I love about them is the songwriting. Their lyrics are usually amazing, no matter which bandmember is writing them.
I had always wanted to see them live and they never seemed to come around the South Florida area (at least not when I've been free to attend). So you can imagine the joy I found when I saw the Wanee lineup. I was already psyched to go regardless of who would be there, but now I get to see one of my favorite bands at the same time. Bonus!
I just hope my expectations aren't too high. You know how it goes...sometimes you can really dig a band's albums, but when you see them live they don't really live up to it. I'm sure I'll be pleasantly suprised!

 Re: DRIVE BY TRUCKERS
Hey Greengrass,They are totaly different live, but your gonna love it,Once they start playing those songs your gonna dig it.There songwriting is incedible, they have such a way with words and an eye for detail.Once you get over the fact they really can't sing its all Bulldozers and Dirt after that, see ya'll at the Rock Show!!

 Re: DRIVE BY TRUCKERS
I saw them in St Pete last year too. They were fantastic. The double disc called Southern Rock Opera is so good, it blew me away. They also opened up for the Black Crows at the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa about 2 years ago. They only played for 30 or so minutes. I also thought they were way better than the Crows. I hate the new jamming Crows. The Crows were so much better when they were a tight bluesy hard rock band. Their jams are just weak. Anywho......getting off topic.
