It might help if all the core members agree NOT to respond to a someone who comes in to argue with people or do some other crazy stuff you see on the net. Just completely ignore them and hope they go away.
I haven't seen the problem so far but you are right, ignore them. Most of those people are just seeking attention for whatever reasons. Some are "on a mission" to change other people's views come hell or high water. Ignore them.
