 I love fold-up lawn chairs !
Before you rake me over the coals , I love them at my campsite . I detest them tied together in front of the Peach Stage with obnoxious people occupying them !

 Re: I love fold-up lawn chairs !
You know, thats the ONE thing about this venue I hate. Certain stages people put up thier chairs RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STAGE AND LEAVE....completely rude....they don't deserve to come get a front row seat whenever they want.
I dunno...I like to move around some. I try to be strategic about which sets I go to and when to go to them. Say a couple minutes before it starts when another big act is on another stage.
Its why I generally have the best time at the 'off' sets...like Mag/Springfest the field stage late night, during/after the main act at the amphitheatre stages I generally can stand right in front. For example, half the Emitt Nershi band didn't show up at spring fest and when I walked up it was just Bill and another dude just playing guitar up there...and like 10 people standing there....once Richie Havens finished they had brought up an insane cast and were kickin' some grass...and the place was packed...but I was leaning against the stage the whole show.

 Re: I love fold-up lawn chairs !
i agree about the chairs up front but it's such a laid back place it really doesn't bother me.... i usually set up my LOW_BACK chairs around the soundboard or beyond area and just walk in for a pic or closer view when i feel like moving... i need a little space around me so you won't find my chair up front.

Lawn chairs come in handy. Give your legs the resting they need. But who wants to sit during a show. I have a hard enuf time holding myself back from dancing all around the place. You dont even want to be by me during Grace Potter...or Derek Trucks....or..sheeeit.....better just stay away people.

 Re: I love fold-up lawn chairs !
In 07 we set up our chairs as close as we could get when the festival opened. You are absolutely right about the people down there. For some reason they think they own the entire festival grounds. They are ordering people around, refusing to share a little ground. A major buzz killer.
We just were nice as hell to everyone and met some nice people, but these people down in front need to be taught some festival etiquette. They should post these rules down in front: 1. Festival seating means you have no claim to territory. If someone wants to walk up and stand next to, around, or in front of you, you have no right to tell them to move. You have to share the space. 2. You can’t make a big deal if someone bumps into you 3. If you are not sitting in your chairs, anyone can sit in them. 4. When the main acts come on you must fold up your chairs and organize your gear to make room for other people
