I have posted previously about the incredible year I've had with live music, starting with Wanee. There was a stretch in July into August with one great performance after another, and THEN there was my 49-for-49 record at Bear Creek -- 49 sets and I liked every one of them. So I should have expected a bump in the road.

Dec. 21 -- went to Yeoman's Road (Tampa) after a party to check out Poetry 'N Lotion. Arrived at 9:30 for a 10 PM performance. At 10:35, still no indication by the band that they were ready to start. We split. SWING AND A MISS! STEE-RIKE ONE!

Dec. 22 -- went to Fly Bar (Tampa) to Serotonic. We've seen them a bunch, and they played my daughter's wedding in October. Serotonic listed on the web AND on printed menus. Serotonic everywhere, in fact, except on stage. There was a reggae-islands duo, the Sunsetters, and our dinner was superb. FOULED OFF! STEE-RIKE TWO!

Dec. 27 -- went to Tanqueray's (Orlando) to see Matt Lapham and Friends, according to FB. No Matt Lapham. Band there was OK, but I did get a Savi Fernandez sit-in, and a ticket for his show the next night at the Social. FOULED OFF! STILL STEE-RIKE TWO!

Dec. 28 -- got in my car to go to the Social to see Savi, but through an absurd sequence of events, I never got half a mile from the hotel. SWUNG A MISSED A PITCH THAT BOUNCED TO THE PLATE! STEE-RIKE THREE! YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!

Rats! Looking forward to a great 2013, though!

Like I mentioned (and I need to post it), I had so many home runs in a row this summer, I felt like I was in a dream. This was just a slight bump! Thanks for the encouragement! And the love!
