 Best Allman Brothers Show/Tour/Era???
Just read this article on NY Times on the Dead http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/12/arts/ ... anted=1&emJust wondering if you Allman fans out there have any opinions about the last 40 years of Allman Brothers concerts: What was their best show?; What was the best tour?; etc.

Best times for me were when Duane was still alive and Berry!!! Late 60's then again in the late 70's mid 80's....hell that is a loaded and it is just too dam hard to answer....I have seen them in all of their eras so kinda hard for me to pick a fav Especially knowing most of the past and some of the present members

Thanks, Mulelady. I know it's all opinion, but that is kind of what I wanted to hear.
I discovered Allman Bros. in high school through my uncle's vinyls ("Eat a Peach" & "Beginnings").
The first time I saw them was at Bonaroo in '03. So the present band is what I know best. Derek and Warren are incredible! Do wish I could have seen Duane and Dickey, though.

These guys are one of if not my FAVORITE band. I just love them. First show was in 89 I think at the Orphium in Boston. Haven't missed a year since then!! CAN'T WAIT to spend the weekend with them at WANEE!!

I have loved ABB in all of there forms, 1st time seeing them live was in "92" Warren, Dickey and Allen. I do wish I would have got to see them in the early "70's" though. Really would to love to have seen Duane and Barry.

I don't remember how many strings it had but 2 roadies had to help him put it on. He used it during an unbelieveable percussion/bass solo.

Yup, and Liz Reed, Actually started with the Freebird chords because they are real easy to learn but if you dont expect too much any song can be broken down!!

I dont know if I am ready for a public performance just yet, but the guy who's teaching me is coming too and I would guess he would be willing to jam!
