Re: Bath in the Suwanee River ...
I did the first year but last year didn't as I heard the grumblings on the beach about people and the soap not being good for the environment etc.
Thoughts? I want to hear from serious greenies - what is the best solution? Is there a ceratin soap to buy that is not bad? I don't want to harm our beautiful park but with the June heat forsee a dip, if not 5.

Lots of earth friendly soaps out there, just be wary of Marky and his telephoto lens!

Also, if you must bathe in the river make sure you're well downstream from all the swimmers.

I disagree. Bathe by the people. Maybe down stream but not down stream. We were swimming about a football field down from the beach part and came across a nest of moccosins. (sp) stay were the all the noise is. it keeps the wildlife away.
There are always naked people there. But you dont have to take of your bathing suit to wash your pits and stuff. Just be discrete and use earth friendly soap you can get anywhere. Army Navy, Dicks Sporting Goods, Native Sun, Wild Oats, etc.

Yeah, about the snakes, Mr. Hippie is phobic, does anyone know if the snakes are more apt to be in the h2o at a certain time, i.e. dusk or dawn? Loving partners want to know. p&l
