Post Re: Your First Concert?
My first concert...
Judy Collins played in our town while filming for Sesame Street. Our youth symphony (with me on harp) got to play while she sang I think it was "Both Sides Now", but I can't remember... I'm getting old.

My first REAL concert was KISS (makeup on), I won tickets on the radio, and I lied & told my parents they were a group like The Beach Boys just so I could go. I got to hang around backstage and see them with no makeup on... It gets better, I had a HUGE kiddie crush on Paul Stanley, tee hee hee. UNTIL I heard him speak in that high girly voice he has. It really shot down my little girlie dreams of being a groupie... They let me take lots of pictures backstage, then confiscated my film and gave me $200. ALOT of money for a broken hearted fan kid....

My first show was Queen in 1981 in Okalahoma City. What a great time, Freddie was an outstanding singer. My brother took me with some of his friends. What I remember most is that he forgot the key to the locking gas cap and we ran out of gas on the interstate heading back home. He left me sleeping in the car to find a phone (no cell phones back in the olden days) and the cops woke me up banging on the glass. What a crazy nite!!! I didn't realize it then but I do now, how lucky I was to able to have seen Queen perform.

I caught Queen/Billy Squire 1982 Cap Center Landover MD. I was glad to catch Freddie before he died. They have always been one of my fav. Also saw the the Queen/Paul Rodgers in Jacksonville a few years back. Your right Paul is was the best pick for the vocals.

GREAT thread! Some of this is really funny! First show was Journey in...85 maybe? Thinking that Bryan Adams opened for him but...hmm..not sure. That was at the Brendon Byrn arena / Meadowlands and is now Continental Arena in Jersey. I too have been to the Palladium but, no idea who I saw there. That was my first fake ID that I got on the streets of NY that night and then hit the club. Man, did I think I was the shizit!! :D

Elvis Presley. I was 13 and my mom took me. I still remember his stage presence.

We have a 7'x3' table that we have our ticket stubs on with a piece of glass over them.
