Saw Metallica in Jax back in 91 I think, I was still in high school. Starting my daughter off early, took her to see ZZ Top this past Summer. She is 4 and loved it.

1973...Foghat at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, my friends' mom drove us and picked us up, we were 13 yrs old. A few weeks later we hitched a ride to same aud. to see Grand Funk Railroad. Got busted by parents and grounded for a month. So happens a week after I get done being grounded this group called the Grateful Dead played the same auditorium 10-23-73, Hitched, got caught, got grounded and so began a long strange trip!!!!!!!

OMG, to go back in time for a night! Metallica...mmmm I'm guessing 85/86 again. I think my hair was just as big and rocked the bullet belt, acid washed jeans. OH yeah....good stuff. (grew up in jersey so big hair was part of the deal!!)

Funny you should ask. I was just telling somebody this story.....

When I was in 8th grade, Vanilla Ice was on tour and came to VT (at the time, there really weren't a lot of big acts that came to VT). I got excited and asked my parents if I could go because ALLLLL my friends were going . I remember my dad looking at me and saying "Look, someday somebody is going to ask you what your first concert was and you are NOT going to want to say 'Vanilla Ice'. Trust me."

So instead, in 9th grade, my parents took me to see Paul Simon in '91 on the "Born at the Right Time" tour. It was 2 weeks after the big Central Park Show.

I'd actually seen other people at random festivals, etc, but Paul Simon was my first, real, full-on concert.
