So our first time at Wanee, we are camping primitive style. We will be there mid-afternoon Thursday. Is it just first come first serve regarding staking out your campsite?
Can we claim as much space as we need. We will have my truck, 4 man tent, and a 12x12 canopy incorporated into the site.
Generators?
What about propane cooking?
Campfires?
Any past experiences shared would be cool.

1st come - 1st serve for primitive.
Space within reason. There aren't any (from what I've seen) restrictions - just don't take an acre.
Generators - I beleive - aren't allowed primitive. Somebody will have to correct if wrong.
Propane cooking - of course. I've set up tables, propane stoves, propane lights and the works. A family has to eat!
Campfires - allowed. Supposed to have a fire ring but there are many areas "pre-dug" from past gatherings.

It is pretty laid back. Catch up on the board and it should help answer any more questions.

I was told by the park that anybody who has a generator can use it and will be set up in the bird sanctuary. Let them know this when you get there so you do not have a problem later. I did not ask about specific generator regulations so you may want to check on that. I have one of those quiet Yamahas that I take camping all the time and never have a problem.

Honda's are quite too.

I asked a question in another thread, but i do believe my question belongs in this thread.

What time do the gates open on Thursday the 4th? We want to be there as soon as they open to ensure we get the campsite we had last year or as close to it as possible.
