I am a Yankee too, but I think Panic fans are great. I might even like them more than ABB fans. Too many ABB fans are uptight middle aged territorial jerks that drink too much and act like assholes. I prefer people who drink less and smile more.

We hung out in the lot at the recent Phish shows and had a great time. We met a lot of nice people. Of course there are always bad apples, but no one ordered us to sit down at the shows.

I am glad WSP is playing.

good points ILTS. ABB fans voiced their "lack of fondness" for WP fans dancing this summer. There was no beer throwing, no crazy partying, just dancing and getting down. And its incredibly rude for a group of people(not lumpin all ABB fans in this)(who obviously don't dance due to ???) to ask people to see their favorite music and not. He/She who feels it, knows it. Ya know what I mean? no turf wars:) , just differences in how we celebrate. Sadly, there was a sizeable percentage of us that felt ABB fans were a little too "territorial"(perfect term) and were actually upset at dancing. They were looking at us like we were "eating their food" in the wilderness. lol.

Come on now...what is this Footloose? LOL. Im one of the few cuttin rug in the field to ABB. Some of yall look at me like Im nuts. And the lady too. Its because we are nuts. Nuts for Mule, Panic and ABB.... is it April yet...Im already having problems sleeping Im so geeked...

we love ya brother,,but this is kinda harsh and stereotyped if ya ask me.....
where i get your point, those words could be attached to MANY fan bases out there.....like i said,i get your point,,but it's a broad label to slap on ABB......maybe it's been your unfortunate location in the crowd...(don't misunderstand me LTS,,i've seen belligerent fans at ABB shows)

and not all drinkers, heavy or light, are assholes....
i've been around these scenes a long time and and yes,the apples come in many shapes and ripeness.

i used to go to alot of "southern rock" shows back in the 70's and i remember fights and wiped out drunks causing many problems and rarely do i see that type of drunk in the crowds these days.....not that it doesn't happen, but it's better than some of those old days past......at least from my perspective.

I will say this........I have a feeling that the chair nazi's who claim their territory at the front of the stage may have some issues with the people who will be infiltrating the front trying to get closer during Panic..........its bound to happen. I see a couple things happening.......the chair nazi's killing the "communal Panic dance vibe" or the nazi's actually getting out of their chairs to shake their asses and have a good time. Either way I will be in disbelief if the first 75ft in front of the stage is sitting room only.

I understand that some folks like to sit down because it is their right and they have been there all day and deserve that seat etc. I do think it is silly not to recognize that maybe it is time give some folks a "dance floor" close to the music for them to enjoy. If you are gonna sit in your seat, at least recognize that you will be in the minority and it really isn't cool.

i think i've commented on this whole seat issue before somewhere,,,
but there is nothing wrong with taking a chair to sit in....at some point,no matter how young you are,it's nice to take a break.....
but you will not see MY chair up close and in the way of the boogie.
i usually set up around the soundboard or beyond (base camp)
and when it's time for me to shake,i boogie my way closer in to the stage.
i have no right in telling those that plop down up front to NOT sit there, but i wish people would just be considerate and understand that the dance will happen.
i really think they should dedicate a certain amount of space up front for standing room with no chairs allowed in that area.....the majority of these bands that play require a certain amount of boogie.....i'm more of a bopper than a dancer,,but hey, dance up a disco if thats your style.

there's no need for a war on this,,,just realize that there are two views involved,,,,those that dance and those that don't....
we CAN all get along.
respect.
