Post boiled peanuts
anyone plan on boiling some peanuts for the Wanee weekend?....I don't have a spot with power, so I won't be able to participate in an old family tradition for get togethers.........I can't get them in Indiana, only when I visit down south of the Mason Dixon can I find the green ones and that is usually during summer months.....

april, warm weather, good music, new friends and boiled pnuts would really cap it off nicely..........oh I almost forgot my trusty friend baisel, that too

Post Re: boiled peanuts
language i can understand.
there are years of history in my family who live in south georgia who grew peanuts,watermelons...grew pigs on the farm(BACON!!!) among other farming choices.
so i LOVE boiled p'nuts....good salty or cajun...either one.

to me,the best are the spanish~valencia`redskins.
some like the larger variety, but i lean more towards those redskins.

i usually do not have time to boil them while at Wanee,,but i will probably have some already made up...
i can bring a bag full of raw ones if you feel the urge to boil !!!
they sell them at our farmers markets here and you can also get them at lots of places around florida.

I don't remember noticing any vendors doin'em. Would be a great idea. Someone call Mr. Aaron, The Pie Man. Maybe he knows someone close.

A friend boiled some up once back in the Hilton but that was a one time thing. I have no idea if he'll do it again this year. One of those turkey fryers works great for them.
