VERY psyched Hot Tuna is on the bill. Never seen them live, electric or acoustic.

But they are on my bucket list of bands that I really want to see before kicking the bucket straight through the uprights for a 53-yard, game winning field goal on a sunny and cool Rocky Mountain afternoon...

Well, I'm wondering if lots of folks don't know that HTE is 1/3 of the original Jefferson Airplane. Personally, I'm looking very forward to seeing them, and hope they don't conflict with Black Keys, Johnny Winter, Steven Stills, and others I haven't seen.
Unlike my little brother, iluvtopanic, who'll be right up under John Bell's nose, both nights, I want to check out acts I haven't seen. Last year I passed on the Doobie Bros. to see Driveby Truckers, whom I've seen a dozen times. I'll see them, again, but, one of those Doobies might pass on, and I'll never get to see that lineup, again. Just things to consider...

If there is a downside to Wanee, it is only not being able to catch everything in full. I did DBT full bore, then stumbled up the hill for the Doobies encore in time for those jukebox hits from the 70's (real time high).

I will catch the full HTE and run to up hill ASAP. IMO HTE is probably as close as any splinter band got to JA at their height of creativity. I still feel the 1st Starship was the nod to their future. (Jerry) HTE had a lot of the same players on and off, as well as a familiar yet differing vibe. Jack Casady may be one the 1st bass players to blow me away. (Tim Bogart was also in that group) What a day Casady Schools Oteil!

:D Moonalice played Magfest a year ago, and got rave reviews from my Deadhead buddies. I didn't realize that Jack Cassidy, Pete Sears, and G.E. Smith were in the lineup !

I've never seen them but they seem to have a good tour presence on the west coast. Wonder if I can squeeze one of their shows in?

I've also hear it's a good show, not to be missed if possible.
