Since no one has mentioned him, I will guess Steve Kimock. Under appreciated, IMO.

did I forget to mention...

MY HUSBAND!! :D

one of the reasons I fell in love with him! he was trying for months to convince me we should go out. Took me to a gig (I'd been to many before, but wasn't looking at him "in that way")
During LET'S GET IT ON....I fell, and fell hard. and I fall more every day!

Brett rocks my world!! and he doesn't mind when I drool over other musicians which is nice too. :P

All time fav - Jerry, hands down.

Best/most talented - I put Derek in the same class as Miles, Bird, Monk, jazz geniuses, guys that are so above the rest. Him and Duane, pure soul and passion.

Duane Allman
he could play ANY style....

gotta differ on HarryZ

derek is good....but he is not ready to be mentioned in the company of Monk - Bird - Coltrane - Miles ..... even Derek would tell you that....these men faced a different generation of hate & rascism & still conquered the world........Derek is Great but he aint Clapton yet....But if anyone can do it...Derek got the skills....lets see how life changes his music....

Hey dangfunky (nice name!), thanks for the feedback, got cha, but....
Of course Derek wouldn't fess to my statement, the guys is way too humble.
Hate & racism....mmmmm, gotta think on how that's a factor...
EC - 1st concert I ever saw, EC, with a little known band called Barnstorm, with some cat called Joe Walsh opening, West Palm Beach, Aug '74 (I think, I was only 14!). Love EC big time, still do, at least a dozen shows, but what song(s) did he record/play live can you dig up that stands up to any of Derek's recent version of, say, Favorite Things? Or some of the songs he plays live that take off, U know the ones? His tones, style, influences; I put him (in my list, insert smiley face!) in a group with the greatest musician I have ever heard, let alone seen perform live, ever!!!!!!!
Thanks for listening......

do u like kickball?

LOVE SONNY!! man, he is so damn good.

I think EC would say that Derek is as good if not better than he himself is. I know he has said that when he plays with Derek he has to bring his A game and it really challenges him.

IMO, no one, and I mean NO ONE sounds like Derek. he is completely original and one of the best of all time.

Definitely Wanee worthy, I caught him a few years ago in John Hiatt's Band and was most impressed with the slide :!: 8-)
