So, festivaters...out of curiousity, and plus I'm in a furk kind of mood, I figured I would ask what is your favorite fest, and what is your least favorite fest. I'd like to hear the reasons why too.

Happy furking!

3) the people
4) it's effing FLORIDA baby

I don't have a worst, because I have been to very few festies. Wakarusa, some blues festivals, but nothing like Gathering or Bonaroo or anything like that. Not a huge amount of festivals goin on in the Midwest unfortunately!

My last fest, before Wanee last year, was a loooong time ago (Stompin' 76). That was a very different time, and even a different wife. It was in a hilly pasture with few amenities.

No comparison! I am thinking of attending some of the smaller fests closer to home (Merle Fest, Floyd Fest) but have been put off by not being able to camp on site.

But I have a need for much more fun in life (ain't had enough fun!)

Can't say i've ever had a "bad" fest,,i get off on most all of them...

the highlights would be some old small fests in N.Caroilina long time ago...
Galax Fiddlers conventions ,,loved walking around the campgrounds drinking moonshine with new friends and playing my guitar with some of the most incredible musicians that the world will probably never see.
Champagne jams at Grant field was fun in the 70's.
Harvest Fest's here in ATL...over the top times.
Amberland (3 days of Perpetual Groove Family Reunion)
The first 7 years of Bonnaroo i had incredible times even tho i saw the decline of the quality in that fest the last few years i went(skipped out on the last one~'09)

and the best little fest if i had to put one at the top ?,,,,
you guessed it.
the people, the scene, the park, the four hour twenty minute ride down,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i wanee go right now....come on April !!!

:D Furk yeah, best fest Wanee 2009, rain and everything. I've been to Magfest and Springfest, and they rank right up there ! I used to go to the Coney Grove Bluegrass Festivals, outside Cordele Ga., back in the 70's, and they were always fun. I guess my worst might've been a bluegrass fest in Lawty, Fla., also, back in the 70's, and I was young, and too wasted on brownies. It was, mostly, grandparents, and toddlers, a target poor environment for babolitas. No beer sold, and cardboard burgers for food. They, actually, made us brown bag our beers ! Woke up with tent collapsed on us. But, the music was, still, pretty good !

You guys must have missed this little thing called Rothbury. Fun is too small of a word to give justice. Wakarusa is very chill and harmonious.

Worst fest goes to Bonnaroo or Vibes last year.

So far ....

Best Fest: Jam Cruise

Worst Fest: Mountain Jam

Dear Warren -
Do you know what it's like to spend 3 days on a mountain with a 89 degree slope with torrential downpours daily?

IT SUCKS!!!

Best, so far = Jam Cruise, though it's still fresh in the mind, but I haven't been to Wanee yet.

I've never been to a bad festival. Even if the music sucks (which it rarely does), I'll find some cool people and make a party out of it.

I'll answer my own question:

Worst - All Good '05

The weather sucked, and the promoter screamed at us, and told us we were all "bad apples."
Best - It's a toss up between Harvest Fest at Suwanee in '03/'04 and Bonaroo '04.
Rocked my face off...and don't remember any of it.
