Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
It would take almost an act of GOD from my understanding for them to play again together! Very deep wounds there!! I thought for sure that Gregg would invite his old time buddies too, such as Danny & Frankie Toler, David "ROOK" Goldflies, Chaz Trippy, Keith England and several others but???? Everything happens for a reason and sometimes we just don't know why! Peace all, gma

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
I hate hearing people put Dickey in such a light as I hear him put sometimes. I'm not friends with any of these people, just a fan since I was a kid seeing the Brothers when they first had Warren and Alan Woody playing with em. Dickey and WArren, those were the days! I'd never seen Dickey not kill it, so I don't know what anyone's talking about when they say he was noticebly f'd up, his playing suffering. But ok. So Greg's always had it together when Dickey was partying too hard? Must've been just bad falling out - personal differences, not Dickey being too messed up, that's always been my guess, but I remember Zack Wylde filling in for Dickey somewhere around '90 when he was out for some reason, so ... But they ceased to be the real Brothers when I heard Dickey was kicked out by fax or phone or some s#%t. And people talk about him like he's ... well, I know all the real brothers and sisters still love him like I always will. And lemme throw this out too: who ratted out the whole road crew? a story I heard...

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
Muleldy1...a few years ago Rook and I were sitting in a bar, talking over "old times"...I told him "David, I've beeen working with computers for 25 years and I'd give my right arm to play bass with ABB...now here you are, having played bass with ABB and NOW you're working with computers" Dammit, why couldn't we have traded places back in 1978?!?!?!
