Sweet. Those middle of the week kick ass concerts are tough sometimes. It's different when it is somebody low key and you just want to go and chill but I would be partying hard for this one and not looking forward to going into work the next day.
A full review is expected!

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
Good Mornig Dart, I just caught that show in St. Pete last month. Good show, Dickie still has it and his band has a couple of real good musicians to check out. The bass player is real good, Dickies son Duane is also plays a mean guitar altho he sometimes seems like he is ready to fall asleep playing For me the other guitar player ,I dont even know his name, really shined. Its not as polished of a show as the ABB but more like a loose jam. All in all a real fun show, good set list and long. He did 2 sets, for the second set we were elbows on the stage, he started around 10 pm and they had to ask him to stop for a curfew at 2 am. I got home @ 4 and had to go to work Heres a few to get you more pumped................... I will be waiting for your review!!!! Mike

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
Got to see Dickey and GS a couple of years ago, my first time seeing him with his son on guitar. Kenny Neal was on keyboards. Show was reall good, it would have been much better if Dickey wasn't feeling...so good...if you know what I mean. I still like the days with Dangerous Dan Toler on guitar... now that man can play the axe!

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
Has anyone heard why he didnt show at the Beacon Run this year. I thought for sure after Clapton, Buddy Guy, Phil and Bobby and all the rest, he would have come. I am assuming he and Gregg are still....unfriendly????

Re: Dickey Betts and the Great Southern
From what I have heard he was basically kicked out of the band due to his heavy partying. There is probably still plenty of hard feelings going around. It would ge great if they could just put it aside for a weekend. Dickie deserves his moment in the spotlight.
