How great would a Petty World Tour warm-up at Wanee suck?

Post Joe Cocker (recent)
Tom Petty is no longer a Florida boy, left us long ago for Californy. He's a "refugee".
I saw Joe Cocker 6-7 months back and had a great time. He is no longer "wired out " or "spazzed". His vocals were stronger and deeper than when I saw him long ago with Ian Anderson. He sang "Get by with a little help from my friends", and the audience sang with him. He was at the Pompano Beach Ampitheater which holds so few people, there are no bad seats. ABB used to play there every Christmas with Gregg's mom sitting on the side of the stage listening to him.
So, for those that might want to know about JC, hope that this helps.

Totally agree.
Go to Cocker not sure....leave a serious fan.

Either way the man has earned his way into music history.
It would be a disservice to yourself to not go see him if you could.

I once had a chance to see Ray Charles..................

Haven't seen Ray Charles. I would have liked to. I believe he was a grad of Fla A & M?
I have seen Stevie Wonder as a back up for the Stones. I wanted him to get off the stage so that we could get down to some real music!

Muddy Waters used to play Lupos Heartbreak Hotel in Providence when I was a kid......

Then again, the Ramones were there a lot too.

Loved it all. It took me forever to see Cocker. Great time.

Missed Joe at St augustine recently! He started his last tour there. Would love to hear him sing"A song For You" by Leon Russell. I think he would make me cry if he did the way Ray Charles does to this day!!BTW, Saw Leon Russell at St Augustine Rythm and Ribs last year. He did a mediocre version!
