did someone say Gates BBQ????
Amy,when i worked at the board of trade in KC,i used to have lunch at Gates.....just the smell walking in wud make u drool...
we now have the sauce available here.

**another tip for that bbq is to bring a crock pot to simmer it and keep it covered for those long party moments at your camp.
Doug from Virginia does his that way and we'll munch on it thru the night.

We usually just do the sandwich meats for lunch meal...Grab and Go's. Breakfast is coffee, scramble eggs with turkey saugage and precut and seasoned potato's that only require reheat. If fact, if you are driving in you should premake some dinner meals and just reheat.
Never tried the breakfast there. Vendors have all the usual festy food. Hot dogs, chicken on a stick, saugage w/onions and peppers, etc. The best was a chinese box of vegetable lo mein with chop sticks. Could of been my state of mind, but it was GOOOD! 8-)

WAVO....

HIGH MAY I HELP YOUUUUUU?!!! :D

that is a damn good idea, and I'm doin it. (the crockpot)

I'm definately taking everyone's advice, we will plan well and we are not spending a lot of time cookin. this is hard because Brett and Paul actually love to cook. you notice I did not include myself ....I'm the eater, not the cooker. and I'm the smoker, but not when it comes to meats.

for all not in the know, Gates is a BBQ joint in KC, well known and very good. When you walk in the place (you order at a counter and then take your BBQ to your table) the MINUTE you step through the door, it doesn't matter if there are 50 people in front of you..the ladies working the counter scream at the top of their lungs HI MAY I HEP YOU??? it's halarious.

Wavo..I'm afraid no Bobby Bells BBQ. I'm not sure I've ever heard of the place.
