 Re: virgin wanee
Bird Sanctuary is usually where the Drum Circle is at.. I, too, dig a drum solo. But, not at 3am.

atlanta hippie wrote: can we bring tiki torches? IN the camp ground? Probably, call the campground and ask when it gets a bit closer to the fest. Right now we are in a drought and if there isn't some significant rain between now and then they may ban then as a precaution but I'm just guessing. I'd say almost for certain no tiki torches in the festival area. I know at one of the BB King Blues festivals there they turned away a guy who tried to haul in a bunch of them. The guy was pissed ... and stupid!

 Re: virgin wanee
Here's to no stupidity! But I do plan to check on the tiki torch issue in the primitive area. Anything to ward off skeeters and add atmosphere. The info in this thread is very helpful and I didn't even post a question! We plan to be there Thursday afternoon.
thanks to all! Greg & Pamela

 Re: virgin wanee
Oh, and cybergaloot spoke of a drought...but hasn't it been raining fairly constantly, or am I reading the weather maps wrong? I'm fine with afternoon showers, very used to them steaming up New Orleans when I lived there. And often the weather map for my area looks like I should be getting a downpour but it's almost always a bit north of us. Anyway, just wondering about the weather. How soggy/muddy is the ground? Can we expect more than just afternoon showers? Thanks!

 Re: virgin wanee
TYpically just an afternoon shower - can be all day though and it can skip it all together. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Sugarmeg said that she checked the 10 day forcast and it looked clear and V said there might be a front to push the rain out for the weekend.
