Remember seeing them in the 80's RIP

He's most known for being the bass player and founding member of Iron Butterfly. I feel his best work was with Captain Beyond from 1972-1973,1977. He played bass, backup vocals, and did most of the writing. The CB guitarist, Rhino Reinhart(played with Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley in The Second Coming), died earlier this year of cancer. That leaves two remaining members, Bobby Caldwell(Edgar Winter and drummer on Derringers Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo, Armageddon) and Rod Evans, the lead singer on Deep Purple's first three albums. Know one knows where he is. He vanished years ago.

I saw Dorman and Iron Butterfly on Thanksgiving Eve '68 at the Baltimore Civic Center. With Steppenwolf. My first psychedelic show -- the show, not me. That took longer.

I always said I was born about 10 years too late! Iron Butterfly really did what Jam-on is all about! I still crank out the 'ole turntable just to hear the cracks between the drums and bass!
