 Mikes Q&A: Tipping?
Allways nice to know when visiting a new country is the use of tip. Not that much used in Sweden where theres an amount included to the service personal (even if we use to tip with about 10-15% on restaurants). We usually don't tip in any other circumstances. So how should I behave to be polite in that aspect?

20% is customary for restaurants. It can typically transfer to anything.
Some places do have it built in, but usually only for groups of 6 or more.

15 - 20% at when you are waited on at a restaurant. $5 for valet (when they bring the car around).
I am a big tipper though.

Thanks. So it's more or less like here then. Tipping at restaurants (the parking detail we usually do without assistance) and with 20% for good service and food you're ok with them...

Since you are coming through customs you may not encounter this but if you allow the airport "porters" to handle/transport your bags for you then the general guideline is $1.00 a bag.

Here's a tip: Don't play the horses!
Remember the Seinfeld episode. Jerry tips $5 a bag!

Remember the Seinfeld episode. Jerry tips $5 a bag! I have always tipped good as I have been in the position that those tips would buy the kids food etc...when I bartended! Also, those poor porters at the airport I always give more to as I would carry heavy loads in my suitcases or would be traveling with a show dog..and you want to be good to them to ensure that the animal is taken care of!! I imported a bitch from Australia poor thing went from NSW to Syndey,to London to Miami ovr 3 days to get here and she didn't even mess in her shipping box ...it was funny as the breeder took her ears (2ysold) and wrapped them and then put vet wrap on that and then a ponytail holder and at Miami I had all of these guys in Cargo just waiting to catch her if she got loose when I undid all of latches she slowly got out and puppy stretched and her box was custom made and is huge...anyhow I thought she had eaten her ear fringes off That's when Idiscovered the wraps the breeder had put her ears in to protect them and insure air to her ears? About 4 guys got at least 5 bucks to stand there while I opened her crate...usually don't do that but this one was huge!!!
