BigWinTrip wrote: Hey guys it'll be my first time at wanee Im super excited. I can get there as early as I need. Where should i camp so that Im nearest the parties. Im a big time partier and wont sleep much plus im a very heavy sleeper anyway so I dont mind noise. I just want to be in the heart of it. Where do you think and when should I be there by? Thanks Guys and Gals i appreciate you advise. The big party is around the lake and in Farm Field/A field. Around the lake is usually first to fill up. However it is also known to be an area heavy with undercovers. I wouldn't be able to say because we have never camped there. I would suggest A field/farm field. There is a drum circle that goes on in this field after the shows end usually until four or five am or later. I would suggest getting there on tuesday or early Wednesday to get a really good spot. One time hippies get up early and get their s#%t together is for music fests!!

 Re: camping question
I just wanted to bring this one back up, its kind of important to newbies like myself. So I know this has been touched on but I wanted to clarify. Are the primitive sites marked? Or is it just open space and you mark off where your camp ends?

 Re: camping question
Primitive camping is Not marked off, camp where you want, size camp as you want , just be respectful when you do such....

 Re: camping question
Just a warning: If you camp by the drum circle you will hear it all night. I find it easier to camp some distance away from it and then make the trip after the last show. Though sometimes it will take a while for the drummers to get there, so head back to camp and party until you hear faint drumming.
Bring some caution tape and stakes to help mark off your spot. Just be mindful that there will be thousands of people (not an exaggeration) and everyone will need some room to camp. So it's best to take what you need and maybe just a little breathing room, but if it gets too full you might need to give some of that space up.

Whats the deal with Special persons camping and loop camping? Are those open as well? Thanks for the heads up slide, I play harmonica maybe we can bust out some sweet blues rif's. But I doubt youll be slinging a slide guitar around at the Fest. Thats the Beauty of the Harp man, it always fits in my pocket.

Any place that is not a reserved campsite is open for primitive campers. The reserved sites will have numbered sign and water and electric hookups. The Loop and SP areas are mostly reserved sites. I know people who set up just on the edge of the Loop and SP area.
