 Meeting Mike Gordon--my awesome story!!
So I have to tell my story since I'm still riding a high from it...
It starts many years ago for Phish tour (probably around 94-95). We see the Phish van and Gordo sitting in the front seat. We get totally stoked and make a sign that says, 'REBA 2 NITE PLEASE', and stick it out the window. Gordo smiles at us. The next time we pass him, he holds out a REBA MACKENTIRE CD (the county singer with the big red hair), and we literally almost crash we are so excited. That night, Phish dedicated REBA to 'our friends on the road'. I went nuts...
That was my favorite Phish story till this Wanee. It all came full circle...
I got to meet Gordo. He came into the Wormtown booth (my sister's booth) and I jump behind to help him. We start looking for a gift for his daughter and I am FREAKING OUT!!!!!
I then to ask him if I can tell him a story and I tell him the Phish story above. He looks up at me and say, "I remember that!". FULL CIRCLE BABY!!!
I almost died. Even more when we had eye contact while he was rocking my face off!! Felt like he was playing just for me...
My friend got pics of the whole scene so once he gets back from Moscow, he is going to post them and I'll share my new awesome Wanee/Phish story.
Life is wonderful at Wanee...

Its the ole Wanee magic . There are truly some magical things that happen there every year. So happy for you, we saw Mike just strolling along on the hill heading from the peach to the mushroom, prob just a few mins before you saw him. I walked right past him and wouldn't have even seen him but my cousin noticed him. I had an experience with Guitar Shorty, maybe he's not quite Mike Gordon but it was cool anyway. He came into the crowd while he was playing and stopped and knelt down on the ground right in front of me, I swear at that moment he was playing just for me. I did get some great pictures and while he may not be the most famous musician in the world at that moment it was the coolest thing in the world.........

He was by the smoothie booth twice. They made him get tix first, and then he ordered strawberry. I was right next to him getting my Arepa. He didn't want any (lol) but was friendly enough. I told the guys working that they should have just given it to him, but they needed thier tickets! They did not know who he was until I told them. Oh well, it was still cool for me.

Re: Meeting Mike Gordon--my awesome story!!
Mike--I saw you with Guitar Shorty!!! I had to get on my tip toes and look over people but I saw that. It was funny cuz I came down to the stage when he was in the crowd, and I hadn't seen him yet. Totally wasn't expecting the crazy black hair and leather straps with studs. He made me smile... GratefulDem--I got Gordo's autograph while he was standing in the smootie line. I tried to be all sly. I went up and asked him if he could sign my schedule and he said that was about the only thing he could do--most people as for pics and then a line starts. Did u see me???

I was standing at the ticket booth all by myself Thursday late afternoon and who walks to the window next to me to get tickets?? Jack Casady! I was blown away....i just said hello and told him how much I was looking forward to the show. He shook my hand and was very gracious. Really cool. Imagine the stories that guy has to tell.
