We Have Reason to Believe -- Jade WARRIOR

These guys were schizophrenic (might have spelled that correctly). They did some beautiful trippy oriental-sounding stuff with flutes, and then they kicked ass with songs like this one:

I b'lieve that was pronunciated: MIR'CLES!

Brother Louie -- HOT CHOCOLATE

This is the original version made famous by Stories.

Louie, Louie....the Kingsmen

the government said this song was subversive and tried to keep it off the airways......wonder what those old geezers would think of the songs today.

The album by the Kingsmen that contains "Louie, Louie" (In Person) is one of the greatest party albums EVER. For its time, it was amazing, and "LL" is way down on my list of favorites from the LP. Their take on "Money" is superb. Sadly, the album and the CD are both plagued by hideous pretend background party sounds -- worse, even, than Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up."

TYS...you definitely have a grate memory.....I have that album somewhere in my stack....but LL is about the only song I remember...that and every aspiring rock band of the time had to play all three chords of Louie, Louie at every dance.....
