Post Re: What Music Are You Listening To?
"Sounds like the time Derek and Susan were playing Tampa a couple days before New Year's Eve. This was The Soul Stew era, at the Tampa Theatre. We are in the balcony, *READY*, and out walks Susan with this impossibly short black spaghetti strap dress and stilettos and slinks up to the mic. And glasses.

DAMN.

Or Bonnie Raitt in 1982 playing Catfish Hodge's Chicken Leg Review at the Wax Museum in DC with Paul Barrere, Cornell Dupree and others. Bonnie came out with a very short, very tight red miniskirt and red go-go boots and kicked everybody of the stage.

DAMN."
Was at the Tampa Theater Show Oh lala,
And danm I miss "The Wax Museum" was the best place to see a band in DC while they were open :!:

OH LA LA
barely covers it, you should pardon the expression. And that was the only time we went to the Wax Museum. It was deluxe! All I remember were the astronaut hanging over the bar and Nixon standing in the hallway.

Lotus "Build"

It is a great CD, and the house sound man at the Dunedin Brewery was playing it before the Consider the Source show and before Kung Fu last week.

I heard "Girl Watcher" by the O'Kaysions this morning.

Which made me think of:

Standing on the Corner -- the Four Lads

I Like Girls -- Fatback Band

Boys -- the Mary Jane Girls

but maybe not:

Pete the Bondage Freak -- Michael Perlitch

[Normally, I would provide youtube evidence, but our school system randomly blocks and unblocks youtube. Today: blocked. Whatevs]

Post Re: What Music Are You Listening To?
After seeing panic 10.25.00 in St. Pete, I missed 2001 and 2002.

My first show after mikey and with GMAC (whom I liked, so deal with it), was 04.30.03, 11 years ago in Tallahassee. The show the night before in Savannah was a rager, apparently. How is it NOT going to be when they play "Red Hot Mama" IN Savannah? Not to mention "Tie Your Shoes?"

The Tallahassee show kicked off with a Chilly > Watchtower sandwich (with Dave blowing on stanza!), a great "Diner" plus "North" and "Goin' Out West." The highlight was the breakout start to the second set, Neil's "Are You Ready For the Country?" AWESOME

04/30/03 Tallahassee Leon Civic Center, Tallahassee, FL
1: Chilly Water > All Along The Watchtower > Chilly Water, Tortured Artist, Who Do You Belong To?, Diner > Blue Indian, Big Wooly Mammoth, Bowlegged Woman

2: Are You Ready For The Country?, North, Meeting of the Waters, Nebulous > Blight, Fishwater > Drums > Fishwater, Don't Wanna Lose You, Papa Legba > Pigeons

E: Goin' Out West, Bayou Lena

[First 'Are You Ready For The Country?'; Everyone remained on-stage during 'Drums'; 'Twilight Zone Theme' tease before 'Chilly Water'; 'Highway To Heaven' rap by JB during 'Bowlegged Woman']

If you are familiar with the second one, you know that turned into "May We Funk You?" in concert after "Tear the Roof Off the Sucker."
