during springfest after a camp jam neighbors fired up a cd of the wood brothers. alway been a big fan of the jazz band modeski wood martin these wood brothers are good. the music was organic very nice and seemed to fit the laid back style of springfest. i would not call them a friday night band but saturday afternoon might be really good.

Last Thursday night was the epic Springsteen show in Tampa. The next morning, I was on a plane to Baltimore for my 45th high school reunion (and Conspirator!).

After the Bruce blow-out the night before, I was looking for something a bit less intense for the flight. I chose to albums eight years apart but forever welded together for me as my children grew up.

The first was Laura Nyro's magnificent 1984 "Mother's Spiritual." My son and duaghter, now both parents, both need to hear this again.

Then it was Neil's 1992 opus "Harvest Moon." And consider this. The first Nyro tune, "To a Child...," starts with a baby crying. The last Neil tune, "Natural Beauty," also has a baby crying.

WOW.

Scott...look up the Neil show I listened to above...It is on PanicStream.net

It is worth a long listen....just a Man and His Guitar.

It is funny...between songs Neil talks to the audience about different things.
One time...he picked up a new guitar and said after many years he got it from Stephen Stills. And he said he would tell a story of Stills at some other time.

Later in the show...he picks up another guitar and said he got it at his music shop...and the crowd laughed. "Rich hippie."
"What is funny about that?" (they laughed even harder).
"You thought someone gave me all my guitars?"
"I got it in Nashville at a little music shop run by Tuck Taylor."
he picks a little... "this guitar was owned by Hank Williams. (the crowd cheered). "That's what money will do for you."
