A very good band to listen to. i could actually give a crap about mickey hart himself...but the rest of the band is pretty damn good!! i was on the rail with Rachel center stage up front for that whole show... it was pretty SAWEEEEET!!

Re: What Music Are You Listening To? I did a jazz radio show for 26 years in Tampa, so I heard LOTS of stuff, good, bad and indifferent. When my wife and I got together in 2006 and merged our CD collections, uniting us forever, she casually slipped on a disk one day that simply blew my mind. It is a straight-up jazz disk, truly magnificent. And then I had to see who was playing. That's what REALLY blew my mind:
Ginger Baker and the DJQ20 with special guest James Carter
DJQ is the Denver Jazz Quintet. The 1999 release is "Coward of the County." (No, not THAT "Coward of the County!")
Highly, highly recommended. And Ginger's playing is so sweet!
