Here is a lay-up (I think Allen Ludden called it a "tip-off" on G.E. College bowl):

For a time, Zappa had two lead singers who fronted a popular pop group with superb harmonies in the 60s.

Name the group and/or the singers and/or their nicknames (full or abbreviated).

[We give a lot of partial credit around here!]

One last bump for the Zappa question.

I read once he lived in Laurel Canyon…could David Crosby and Graham Nash be the answer.

YES! YES! YES!

Formally, the Fluorescent Leech and Eddie.

Here is the short version from the Mothers' "White album:"

Understand that the entire show is a build-up to this point, and most in the crowd did not recognize Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan until ten seconds into "Happy Together."

Here is the entire show (and let me point out, disappointed, that the CD version cuts out the second part of "Willie the pimp," which was used for the album flip from side one to side two):

And somebody put up the entire "Willie the Pimp" from the LP:

The fade out and fade in are from the LP.

The most difficult part of the game is coming up with a question that cannot be goggled for the answer. :? :? :?
