What do I get?

According to Gregg's Howard Stern interview, the first song he himself ever wrote was "Sweet Melissa". He recounted a story about how he came up with the title.

In his book I read that he sold partial song writing credits to Melissa and another song in 1968 because he needed money, $600. He gave half to his brother and their band and used the rest of the money to get back to LA. Years later when he wanted to buy back the song it cost him $10,000.

I like the Monkees, but I can't imagine going from " Foxy Lady" to "Pleasant Valley Sunday"

Carole King cowrote it with someone else. I can't remember his name.
