Indeed, it was Maria. Sorry to see her go. It was an Honor to have been able to sing To the Von Trapp family.

What did you sing? Wild Thing?

 No, I was a part of a quartet that came from the Vermont Allstate competition. I sang Tenor. It was in the early 80's. We sang 3 numbers, all classical. I do not remember what they were. It was up at the lodge the Von Trapp family owned.

My Mother and Father were also involved in the Stowe Christmas Chorus each year, but that was when I was a wee lad in the 70's. We sat right behind the Von Trapps with other choral family members. I always doubted Mom when she said "Thats Maria VonTrapp".. looked NOTHING like her in the movie. :)

Few pics of the church. Awesome old place, the pics dont really do it justice. There was a huge downstairs with a kitchen. I remember playing there during the choir practices. (Might look smaller as an adult, but as a child I remember it as one of the bigger places I got to run around in.)

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=137+Main ... CCYQ8gEwAA go to street view. Currently showing it in July of 2012, Gorgeous. Looking in the window to the right, you can see it is a full two stories tall. And those were high ceilings.

Short drive over 'Smugglers' Notch' in the summer, but a long haul around in the winter to get there.

Thanks for tolerating my musical trivia.

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!

And I saw the real boys do this on Thanksgiving Eve 1968, opening for Steppenwolf -- on crutches (knee surgery) at the Baltimore Civic Center (may it rest in pieces).
