Well, anywho, the Alabama Shakes performed "Born Under a Bad Sign" with Booker T., Steve Cropper and Charlie Musselwhite. Pretty great!

New question (c'mon, folks!):

Bootsy Collins, one of this year's Bear Creek 2013 headliners, was a member of the Parliafunkadelicment Thang for a number of years before branching off to do Bootsy's Rubber Band and other solo projects.

who did Bootsy play bass for before George Clinton?

I have no idea any more, but here is a bit of history.

I remember reading a review (I think it was by Lester Bangs) about looking in his record collection between Connie Francis' Greatest Hits and Kim Fowley's Good Clean Fun and pulling out Peter Frampton's Winds of Change. I screamed and ran to see that that was exactly the arrangement on my shelf as well. But I digress... as usual.

I had a record store in Tampa, and I communicated regularly with an A&M A&R guy named Artie Decker. He called one day to tell me that a new double-LP was being released. At the time, LPs listed for $3.98. doubles listed for $5.98 or $6.98. A&M was going to release Frampton Comes Alive at $4.98, an unheard-of move.

You know what happened. It became the biggest selling double album in history, until IT was eclipsed by Saturday Night Fever. And I will never forget the Polydor rep coming in to promote that album before the movie was release. At the time, the BeeGees were still the "To Love Somebody" boys. the only thing the rep knew about the movie was that it starred Vinnie Barbarino (Travolta) and that he askes a girl for a blow-job. That was the promotion.

And I still have no idea about the answer to your trivia question, but i feel better!

The best-selling double album of all time is Michael Jackson's HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I with over 33 million copies (66 million units) worldwide. I am Guessing that this is the top seller in the USA also.

*Thanks to Google and Wikipedia. :)
