 cellphone reception? Hey, I'm a newbee and am hooking up with friends. Can we depend on cell phones to find each other?

David There is reception in the park. Sometimes it gets a little jammed up with so many people using phones all at once, and calls drop or have a hard time going through, but usually with a couple of tries it will work.

Re: cellphone reception? That comment scares me. 30k people has the potential to turn the perfect fest into quite the clusterfuck. I've been to SoS a couple times, and judging from the estimated amount of people there during those times, I don't think the park could handle 30k people. On a side note/to answer the original question, I have never had a problem with my Verizon service there, although I usually keep my phone off as to not be bothered.

I always thought -- or dreamed -- or hoped -- that attendance would be capped at 20k. Does anybody know what past attendance figures have been?
30k would be a disaster.

30k would be a disaster. 18000 last year 16000 2010 ... im fairly sure it was a good source, but has been a while since i heard it so may be wrong... guess i really didnt help... oh well, i tried!! lol
