 Bonnie Raitt
Listening to her new album, "Slipstream." I'm in love 1/2 way through the first song. Damn!

 Re: Bonnie Raitt
My Bonnie Raitt story:
First time I saw Bonnie was at the old Jai Alai Fronton in Tampa in '76. She had Muddy Waters opening for her! I also saw her in '94 and again at the Lilith Fair in '98.
But the best show was Thanksgiving weekend '82. Catfish Hodge, who had a big hit at one time with "Boogie Man's Gonna Getcha," was riding another wave with "Gimme That Chicken Leg." He put on the Chicken Leg Review at the Wax Museum in Washington DC, the one with Nixon in the hallway and an astronaut floating over the bar.
Hodge had invited a bunch of his buddies to play on the bill, including Paul Barrere and great session guitarist Cornell Dupree (my addled brain cannot remember others at the moment).
Things were moving along quite nicely with some great music when Bonnie strutted out with a red miniskirt and red boots up to the knee. She absolutely kicked everybody's ass off the stage musically. It was incredible! She looked hot, she sang hotter, and she played hottest!

 Re: Bonnie Raitt
She was at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg Florida last year. I think it was RibFest. She's absolutely amazing. Susan Tedeschi's voice has a little "Bonnie" to it, don't you think?

 Re: Bonnie Raitt
Have tix to see her with Mavis Staples in June. Looking forward to hearing some of the cuts off of her new record. Saw her about 10 years ago, Keb Mo opened for her. He is someone I would like to see more of but he doesn't tour too much, especially on the east coast.
I recently found some of her early stuff including a great cover of "Can't Find My Way Home". Check it out!
