Re: The Off Season ~ Wanee Thoughts Still Roll
Wanee has rekindled my love for music, before my first one I would listen to music in the car, etc, but not like back in the old days when time was measured by when the next album came out or when the next show was. Of course in those days there weren't the responsibilities of raising kids and supporting a family, and as time went on those things became more important and music kind of faded into the background. For me Wanee came at the perfect time , my kids were growing into young adults and with their growing independance they needed less of my attention. Now I have some free time and luckely my family understands my love of music and is actually supportive and happy that I am able to take a break from the real world and dissapear for a few days. Wanee has also given me some of the kindest and most loving friends I have ever had, not just for the week in April but throughout the year, and that for me has become as big a part of it as the music. In some ways I have regained a bit of my youth and can escape the real world for a while now and then. Has Wanee changed my life? Maybe, but it certainly made changes in my life that I am very, very grateful for! Love and miss y'all!!!!!!

Re: The Off Season ~ Wanee Thoughts Still Roll
I am new here - name is Ted. My first wanee was this past April and went with several friends. While I feel kinda weird posting on this topic, as I don't know any of y'all, I just wanted to share some feelings about the time I had there and some common vibes I felt among the crowd. Probably like some of you, I grew up in the 70s and music was a major part of my life. At some periods, I was attending concerts at least twice per month. Then came the work & kids and while the desire for live music venues never left, the time did. Reaching a point in my life where I can rekindle my passions (translated that means I'm an old fart), music and especially live music has returned. I was really surprised to see how many others are in the same frame of mind. In a world full of selfishness I was also pleased to discover a place (wannee) where everyone just gets along without any drama. The experience touched me in a way that I can't explain (and I'm not talking about the porta pots) . I will return to wannee again next year. In fact, I was looking at the lineup for magnolia and am tempted to attend that one too. Sorry for putting myself in the middle of your reminiscing, but thought I'd share.

Once you go you know! You are now part of this music family. Wanee is magic, and all who experience it share a common bond. Can't wait til next year!

Mountain! Welcome to the family! BTW, Mountain is one of my favorite bands! Is that where you get your handle?
